Bernd Klaus is a mathematician that holds a PhD (2013) in statistics (multiple testing methods, with K. Strimmer). During his PhD he also taught statistics and R programming to undergraduates and participated in statistical consulting.
Since 2013, he works at the EMBL centre for statistical data analysis that helps EMBL scientists to use adequate statistical methods for their specific technological or biological research questions. His research is broadly related to the statistical analysis of high-throughput sequencing data (RNA-Seq, ChIP-Seq, 4C/HiC, DNA- Seq etc.).
