Pavlo Petakh is an Associate Professor and Researcher at the Department of Biochemistry and Pharmacology, Uzhhorod National University, where he has been working since 2020. Since 2023, he has also been employed as a Clinical Microbiologist at a private medical laboratory in Uzhhorod.

He received his Master of Medicine degree in 2020 from Uzhhorod National University. In 2022, he obtained qualification as a General Practitioner (Family Physician), and in 2023, he received certification as a Clinical Microbiologist. In 2024, he successfully defended his PhD thesis in Clinical Microbiology at Ternopil National Medical University (Ukraine).

His research interests include the effects of chronic stress on immunity and gut microbiota, as well as the role of armed conflicts in the spread of infectious diseases.

In the Huber group, he will investigate the roles of weather factors, climate change, and the ongoing Russo-Ukrainian war in the spread of infectious diseases, such as leptospirosis, and will develop computational methods to predict infectious disease outbreaks.
